In addition to our machining facilities, including turning and milling to over 6 metres in length, our mechanical facilities also include stand alone pump and gearbox repairs and offer three different methods of shaft repair to suit the individual application you may have. We also have one of the largest contract balancing workshops in the North of England. All services are manned 24 hours a day by our dedicated team of time served engineers.
Our machining facilities are far more extensive than traditional rotating equipment repair company with numerous lathes and milling machines across the three sites up to a capacity of 6m long. In addition to this, we have extensive vertical and horizontal boring facilities in addition to grinding and fabrication services.
Where shafts can take too long or be too expensive to manufacture new, a repair can sometimes be the only option. At RJW we offer three types of shaft repair to suit the individual requirements of each job, including metal spraying (where shafts are small and cost is important), selective plating where fine tolerances can be achieved and spiral welding where we have a computer and servo controlled welding head and manipulator to apply a range of steels and other materials depending on the job specification. The spiral welding unit caters for shafts, rollers and other rotating elements up to 5 metres long and over 2m diameter. Pre and post weld NDT inspection is also available as part of this process.
Our fitting workshops, supported by our machining facilities, balancing workshop and cranage over 10T, also carry out repairs to large pumps and gearboxes ensuring all repair work is carried out in house and according to our own standards of service and quality.
Our balancing workshops specialise in the balancing and vibration analysis of rotating elements with facilities to enable the process to be carried out in house and on site. With six machines and lifting facilities to 10T, we have one of the largest balancing workshops in the North of England.
